Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore tried to drum up support on Tuesday night ahead of the special election later this month against Democrat Doug Jones.
It didn’t go well.
Moore, who numerous women have said engaged in sexual conduct with them in the past—including one who said he attempted to rape her when she was 16 and another woman who said he sexually assaulted her when she was 14—tweeted on Tuesday night that he thought people were “afraid” he was going to take “Alabama values” to Washington D.C.
“I think they’re afraid I’m going to take Alabama values to Washington and I can’t wait. #ALsen,” he wrote.

Moore’s tweet was quickly met with intense backlash in light of the accusations.
Is dating high school girls an Alabama value? Or just a Roy Moore value?

You don’t have Alabama values they are not rapist and harassers. Washington doesnt want someone with your sick values

Don't throw the good people of Alabama under the bus like that. A huge majority of them prefer consensual adult relationships with people closer to their age range, and not 13 year olds down at the Piggly Wiggly.

I didn't know paedophilia, Islamophobia, and christo-fascism were values that most Alabamans held dear? I know many good people from your state who don't share these gross "values"

Metro Police, be on the lookout for this man.

What Alabama values are you referring? Voters keep electing politicians who are corrupt, won't follow the laws and have to be removed from office. Example: you. Twice.

Moore’s campaign to take the Alabama seat previously held by Attorney General Jeff Sessions caught new life earlier this week when President Donald Trump officially endorsed him.
White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders implied on Tuesday that Trump supported Moore because the former judge would support the president’s agenda and that was more important than Moore’s alleged past.
The latest polls from Real Clear Politics show Moore up by 2.3 percent in an average of several polls, leading Jones 48 percent to 45.7 percent. The average of polls show Moore’s support spiking after it nosedived in the wake of the accusations made against him.
On Tuesday, Jones blasted Moore during a campaign event.
“I damn sure believe that I have done my part to ensure that men who hurt little girls should go to jail and not the United States Senate,” Jones said during a campaign speech.
