A woman in Clearwater Beach, Florida, got more than she bargained for when she tried to feed a potato chip to a hungry seagull.
Gulls are “opportunistic” feeders, meaning they’ll basically eat anything they can get in their beaks, and as you can see in the video below, every gull on the beach thought they would get on the free food. After all, if there’s one potato chip there are bound to more, right?
The woman starts off looking very happy and excited to make a new bird friend.
Then immediately panics when she gets a little more attention than she anticipated. In the end, she throws down the chip and runs into the water before the birds finally give up.
Obviously, this is not the only time this has happened. YouTube is a veritable treasure trove of people being chased by hungry birds.
There’s seagulls aplenty.
But that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Everything from hummingbirds
to ostriches can be dangerous.
Bottom line: Don’t feed the birds.
Of course, sometimes they don’t need an invite to take what they want.
